Patio chairs and daylight: Can you see HaloShort clearly?
A few plastic chairs make the patio another place to sit and chat. If a screen is already set up there, you may want to watch a short drama too. [HaloShort](https://haloshort.tv/) is currently free to watch, but daylight and glare can matter more than screen size.
Even sitting in the shade, the screen may still reflect light
Chairs are easy to move, so it's easier to try a few orientations when setting up. Don't just judge the effect from in front of the screen—sit back in the chair and see whether bright areas reflect in the picture, and whether the lower part where subtitles appear is blocked by the table. As the sun moves, an angle that works well in the afternoon may need adjusting by evening.
Whether the screen and power equipment suit a patio environment depends on their own instructions; just because plastic chairs can go there doesn't mean electronic devices have the same environmental tolerance. Rain and moisture need separate consideration. If the light is really too strong, moving indoors to watch will be more effective than constantly adjusting the display ratio.
For following the plot, it's best if subtitles stay fully within the picture
HaloShort provides subtitles according to the actual episode. When several people watch together, after choosing an episode, ask the person farthest away whether they can read clearly, then decide how to arrange the seating. If the subtitle language isn't suitable, switching to another candidate is usually more straightforward.
With vertical short dramas, the original ratio leaves blank space on both sides, but preserves the full composition. The app also has stretch and crop modes; after switching, check whether subtitles get cut off. Losing dialogue just to fill the screen is especially not worth it on a patio where people are spread out.
For the download entry, see the Emotn store, using a compatible Android TV or Google TV device. The patio network should also be checked in practice: a smooth connection indoors doesn't stand in for the signal at the screen's actual location.
